How can I make lemonade out of lemons without sugar?!

Well, today is Day 10 of getting my butt back in shape and I finally cracked. I indulged in a bowl of sugary cereal after a particularly stressful drive home from work. You see, a few days ago my windshield wipers, stereo, and power windows suddenly stopped working. Which was fine for a day or two when the weather was dry. But today, as I drove to and from work with no windshield wipers in sheets of endless pouring rain, I realized exactly how crucial windshield wipeage is to a rainy climate dweller.

Sam checked the fuse boxes and nothing appears to be blown. The manual says nothing about this situation and we're not sure where else to go from here. So this Saturday she's headed to the shop, and we'll undoubtedly proceed to shell out more of our hard earned paychecks than we'd like. But sometimes you just have to let a professional handle it. And it looks like this is one of those instances.

Lucky us, huh? Oh yeah, nothin' but good times over here. You know you're jealous.

In other news, I joined a  new (to me) gym. I've watched my digital scale go from reading 209.5 to 201.0 in ten days. Ten days of hard work, pouring sweat, and eating painstakingly healthy has produced an 8.5 pound weight loss. I've spent the past ten days feeling healthy and amazing.

Until this afternoon, that is. That bowl of cereal may have been the best tasting thing I've ever experienced, but the level of guilt I feel after the fact is through the roof. I actually briefly considered forcing myself to vomit so my body wouldn't ingest all of the crap I'd just shoved down my throat. But instead, I looked myself in the mirror and decided to accept the fact that I'd just had a setback.

I realize that I am human. I am definitely going to screw up now and then. And instead of beating myself up about it until I feel like shit, I'm going to accept it and move on. Tomorrow is a new day, another chance to make healthy food choices, and another opportunity to sweat it out at the gym.

So here's to a new day. I'll be starting it bright and squirrely at 5:30 am with a green smoothie. And hopefully by eating right and working hard I'll be under the 200 pound mark by the end of the week.

I can't wait to see 199 on that scale!!.
